Britains distance runner Callum Hawkins earns his pre-selection to race for Great Britain in the 2020 Olympics marathon. The 27-year-old Scottish born runner made his Olympic debut in Rio 4 years ago and came 9th in the marathon.
“I feel I’ve progressed a lot in the past five years,” Hawkins said.
The runner says with hope about the upcoming 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
“But I’m not in any doubt that the level of competition in Japan will be even tougher than Doha.”
Hawkins came in 4th at the World Championship held at Doha this year.
‘I won’t have any fear, though. I will go out there feeling no pressure and, assuming everything has gone well in the build-up, I will really go for it.”
Hawkins was named FPSG Scottish Athlete of the year in November this year.
